Hiring a car can be a very good option for people who have driven in this part of the world before. If not, be aware that some road conditions are poor by western European standards. Most of the major highways are well maintained and are quite safe to drive on though you will notice some aggressive drivers. In the height of summer, parking can be challenging in the Crimean resorts.
